Our history.
At Hippo, we are not unfamiliar with the motor industry.
We have been involved in the motor industry for decades, dating back to 1906 when the Preston family first started trading in the area. This long history has given us a wealth of experience, which we use to provide our customers with the best possible car finance solutions.
George Preston founded our company in 1906 as a coal merchant. We were successful in this business, but by 1960 we decided to change direction and enter the motor trade. We set up a Bedford franchise and quickly built a reputation for excellent customer service. This led to us securing franchises and partnerships from some of the world’s top manufacturers, including Mitsubishi, Land Rover, BMW, and MINI.
